The Tutoring Program at Soaring Heights Charter School is designed to provide intensive instruction geared to students’ Math and English Language Arts needs. Teachers work collaboratively to prepare and provide direct instruction for the purpose of strengthening comprehension, critical thinking and problem solving. Working within a small group environment, the specific needs of each student can be identified and addressed.
State testing and teacher generated test scores are used to determine student placement in the program. Students are grouped according to the specific content areas in which they struggle. The effectiveness of the Tutoring Program is monitored by the staff to ensure the success of the participants.
